Hyperstory Mixtape!

C. Scott Blevins a.k.a. Hyperstory has us counting down the days until his self titled release officially drops on November 10! His song “A Happening” has been popping up across the web, and is definitely the stand-out track of his upcoming record.

Scott recently had the chance to create an extremely chill mixtape for Magnet Magazine…a perfect little playlist for the upcoming weekend!

From Magnet Magazine:

Hyperstory is the current project of Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist C. Scott Blevins. Hyperstory’s self-titled debut album, featuring musicians who have played with the likes of Miles Davis, Beck and Jane’s Addiction, will be released November 10 on the Pureland label. The album is a mixture of live instrumentation and programming, and it seamlessly blends genres as diverse as funk, post-rock and jazz. Blevins made MAGNET a mix tape, and you can definitely hear the influence these artists have had on Hyperstory’s music.

Check out his personal mixtape here.

Casper and the Cookies Cartoonized!

Behold: Casper & the Cookies‘ new video for “Little King” (off Modern Silence), created by Fredrick R. Arnold III of National Dinonaut! Jason NeSmith posted a plot rundown over at the Elephant 6 Townhall:

“The members of Casper & the Cookies are involved in some Scooby Doo-esque mischief with a healthy dollop of technicolor glam style. An underage kid with a fake ID is turned away at the club where Casper & the Cookies are playing that night. Meanwhile, Jason, Kay, & Jim are on their way to the gig. Suddenly, the van is are run off the road by an evil robot and driven off a cliff onto some elevated train tracks, whereupon they are chased by a haunted train. I won’t tell you the rest, but there is a frog prince and another chase scene. And the Cookies’ super-powers come from their fake eyelashes.”

So awesome. Here it is!

1997 Cropper

Let's Party Like It's 1997!

Six is certainly not a crowd for Victory Records band 1997. Their brand new record Notes From Underground released on October 13, 2009. This is their third full-length release, and with it the band continues to mature and hone their sound.

We have posted the video for the track “A Fearless Heart” below! They filmed the new video on location in Gary, IN at an abandoned Methodist church which is also the same setting that was used in the upcoming Nightmare On Elm Street remake. The melancholy setting was the perfect backdrop for this fascinating and eclectic song.
