Venice is Sinking - "Ryan's Song"

Last night I had a dream that my boyfriend was hiring prostitutes for himself on a regular basis. Though it was only a dream, I was still mad as hell at him when I woke up. It was so strange, as we got in the car to go to work, I was STILL peeved. I put on Venice is Sinking’s sophomore album AZAR on the car stereo and something really strange happened. I was overwhelmed with the desire to forgive him! Even though he had been a total butt-head in my dream, AZAR gave me the strength to stop being crazy and just love my boy again. See, I realized if I were a total nut job, this is the record I’d be listening to if we broke up. It’s full of weird lyrics, sad violas, hopeful trumpets, all the good stuff on I would put on mixtapes I made for boys to tell them (well, hint to them) that I was totally in love with them and really really sad cuz they weren’t gay. To give you a taste of this feeling, check out the hunk of melodrama that is “Ryan’s Song.”

Though it will not be officially released until March 31st (via One Percent Press ) the band will be having a CD release show this Friday at the fabulous 40 Watt in Athens, GA. Everyone who attends will receive a free copy of the new album with the price of admission. Rad, right?
