Venice Is Sinking Take On Galaxie 500!

A 2nd track has been made available from the stunning new Venice Is Sinking record, Sand & Lines: The Georgia Theatre Sessions. Their take on Galaxie 500‘s magnificent “Tugboat” premiered on Aquarium Drunkard a few weeks back and it’s now available for all to hear!

Yesterday, Magnet Magazine said of the track, “This whole affair has a late night warmth that seems like a midnight absinthe buzz.” We couldn’t agree more! Check it out below.

Sand & Lines, was recorded live in the now-defunct Georgia Theatre by producer/engineer David Barbe (Sugar, Drive-By Truckers, etc) using only two mics. It stands as a document of the sound of a beautiful space that no longer exists. The record streets on June 15th, a year to the week after the historic Athens venue was destroyed by fire. All proceeds from the record will go to funding reconstruction efforts. It’s an incredible album, an incredible story, and an important part of Georgia music history.

The band performed “Tugboat” for the show Docubloggers during SXSW this March. It was a great live performance, and you can check it out here!
