Leon III cover

The Big Takeover loves Leon III

Richmond, Virginia’s Leon III premiere their stand alone single, “Stick Figures” via The Big Takeover.

The Big Takeover says “the track marches forward at a steady pace with direct, strongly expressed vocals, twangy and gritty guitar lines, and a pronounced drum beat.” Check out the full premiere HERE.

“Stick Figures” digital release date is this May 24th.

Shapiro cover

THE BIG TAKEOVER PREMIERE NEW SONG FROM MATT SHAPIRO

The Big Takeover premiered the new track from Montreal-raised and NYC-based singer-songwriter Matt Shapiro called “Rockaway Girl.”

The Big Takeover says of the track “It’s an up-tempo strummer and hummer that dashes off the starting line of the track and quickly introduces the distorted synth-organs that are one of the record’s sonic hallmarks. It’s an exuberant, lo-fi affair with organs grinding alongside pulsing bass and drums and Shapiro’s reverb-drenched vocals floating overtop.”

See the entire premiere HERE.

“Rockaway Girl” is the opening track from Shapiro’s upcoming EP, Fade In which will be released March 8th.

The Big Takeover premieres The Eyebrows' lead single "Suicide Love" from debut album!

Check out The Big Takeover’s premiere of “Suicide Love,” lead single from The Eyebrows’ forthcoming debut album Volume. The Big Takeover describes the Charlotte-based rock band’s single as “a dreamier cut off the LP that flows with lush, bittersweet regret. Plush, spiraling guitar lines, rich synths, and scintillating cymbals crash wash over Garrigan’s drawn out vocal exclamations.” The album, Volume, is due out Aug. 31.

VIDEO: Kuzin "Run Deeper"

Kuzin (pronoucned “cousin”) is the solo moniker of Jessica Maros. “Run Deeper” is from Kuzin’s debut album Cavity. Produced by Bill Reynolds, Grammy-nominated producer and member of Band of Horses, Cavity ranges from stripped-down acoustic confessionals to fuzzy, full-band freak-outs.

Want to hear more KUZIN? Check out the song “Cavity” on The Big Takover.

Be sure to grab the album when it drops March 3rd!

The Big Takeover Premiered Kinjac's Haunting Remix of Carolinabound's "Chaos."

Kinjac is the eclectic electro-rock solo project of musician/producer Michael O’Shea (pictured). Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, and now based in Los Angeles, O’Shea produced Smoking Gun, the debut EP by Carolinabound, the stage moniker of Chris Smith, a singer-songwriter based in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

The original version of “Chaos,” which premiered today on Verbicide, is gentle, aching alt-country; this remix is a very different beast, as haunted as the house it was recorded in.
