Blasband cover

Blasband, Rebecca

Born and raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Rebecca Blasband grew up in a lively, educated family of scientists and artists. As a teenager, Rebecca attended NYU, Tisch School of the Arts for film and studied theater for three years with David Mamet, William H. Macy and The Atlantic Theater Company at its inception. During this time, Rebecca began performing her original songs in the downtown NY music scene, partnering with Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne, Ivy, That Thing You Do). Her first demo caught the interest of MTV/Bunim-Murray producers who cast her among six others in their first season of The Real World, NY, 1992. This “documentary series” sparked the Reality Television genre, reached 55 million households worldwide and re-ran for ten years. Rebecca signed with Warner Chappell Music publishing and Mercury Records. She toured opening for Squeeze and Aimee Mann, Matchbox 20, Chris Whitley and Jon Bon Jovi. She participated in Miles Copeland’s two-week long “Troubadour’s Songwriting Retreat” at Chateau Marrouatte, along with Cher, Zucchero, Chris Difford, and eighteen other artists and songwriters.

In 1997 Rebecca released her CD album, RAPT with a full band, produced by Warren Bruleigh (Lou Reed, Violent Femmes) and Gordon Gano on electric guitars. RAPT was well received by press, college radio, AAA and Modern Rock. In 2000, after Mercury Records dissolved, Rebecca produced sound design and music for television and film, in Santa Monica and Venice, CA. She briefly returned to her screenwriting roots, leading her to collaborate with Academy Award-nominated producer, Antonin Svoboda on his feature narrative film, “The Strange Case of Wilhelm Reich,” released in 2013. In 2015, Rebecca attended the Chris Difford/Buddy Holly Foundation songwriting retreat at Pennard House, Somerset, England. She lived in London and Southern France from 2015 until 2017, when she returned to the States to record HERE with Danny Uzilevsky producing at the helm, at his studio, Allegiant, in San Anselmo, California. The album was completed and mastered in May 2018.

Hemhora cover

Hemhora and the Glass Band

Hemhora and the Glass Band is a new project out of Batavia, IL consisting of Chris Otepka, Steven Mitchell, Dylan Dresch, and Brad Showalter. Otepka and Mitchell have been writing and preforming music together for almost 10 years in the bands The Heligoats and Hungry Mountain; in that time the two have recorded a combined total of 7 albums and have toured the US and Europe multiple times. For this release, Helix Pattern Blues, the duo have teamed up with Dylan Dresch (Hungry Mountain) and added Brad Showalter (Kiwi Audio) on drums and percussion. Mitchell wrote the music and Otepka provided the words. Recorded, mixed, mastered in 78 hours at Kiwi Audio in Batavia, IL, by Showalter and Jarrett Pryzgoda.

The Glass Band is a conglomeration of musicians that have been backing Otepka as The Heligoats, as well as other bands & musicians like Hungry Mountain and Hemhora. Now an entity themselves, it has formed nicely in the two years following Otepka’s return to the midwest, after living in Washington for 10 years. The band is made up of the revolving members of The Heligoats, related Chicago area projects, and friends. Now formally formed as a collective entity, they are the backing band for several upcoming projects written by members of the band, including this Hemhora EP, an upcoming Heligoats album, and several others, including a planned stand alone Glass Band release of music, written by the various members and contributors in collaboration.

Dedicated to Eric, Vince, and Matt., and all people that struggle with addiction and the friends and families affected by it.

The Monkees

On CHRISTMAS PARTY, The Monkees put their unmistakable vocal stamp on a wide array of classic Christmas tracks, from the R&B holiday standard “Merry Christmas, Baby,” to Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime” and Wizzard’s yuletide classic “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day.”

After helming The Monkees’ critically acclaimed studio album Good Times! in 2016, Grammy® and Emmy®-winning songwriter Adam Schlesinger reprises his role as producer on CHRISTMAS PARTY. All of the album’s 13 songs were recorded this year, with “Silver Bells” and “Mele Kalikimaka” using classic Davy Jones vocals from the archives combined with newly recorded music.

Much like Good Times!, CHRISTMAS PARTY features songs newly written for the band by a group of talented songwriters, including Rivers Cuomo of Weezer (“What Would Santa Do”) and Andy Partridge of XTC (“Unwrap You At Christmas”). Schlesinger and celebrated author Michael Chabon teamed up to write “House Of Broken Gingerbread.” Guitarists Peter Buck of R.E.M. and Scott McCaughey of The Minus 5 play on two songs – a cover of Big Star’s “Jesus Christ” and the album’s title track, which they wrote together.

CHRISTMAS PARTY also includes two songs with Michael Nesmith on lead vocals, with each track being produced by one of his sons. His take on the yuletide classic “The Christmas Song” was produced by Christian Nesmith while “Snowfall” was helmed by Jonathan Nesmith.

Over the years, The Monkees’ amassed a dozen Top 40 hits, including a trio of tunes that soared to #1. Between September 1966 and December 1967, “Last Train To Clarksville,” “I’m A Believer,” and “Daydream Believer” collectively occupied the top position for 12 weeks. Sales of their LPs were more phenomenal still: The Monkees occupied the #1 position for 13 consecutive weeks, and More Of The Monkees for 18 weeks. Both Headquarters and Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. went to the top as well, for a four-in-a-row feat in the incomprehensible space of 13 months. The final tally: 16 million albums and 7.5 million singles sold in a mere 2 1/2 years.

Team Clermont's 15th Anniversary Summer Showcase: Bear In Heaven, Olivia Tremor Control, & more!

We are excited to announce the return of the Team Clermont Summer Showcase and Prom, as we celebrate 15 years of excellence in radio promotion and PR! This will be the first summer festival since our massive 10th anniversary, and we’re putting together the biggest celebration to date.

Over the July 26-28 weekend two showcases will be held at the Georgia Theatre, headlined by critically acclaimed national act Bear In Heaven (Brooklyn, NY) and psych-pop pioneers The Olivia Tremor Control (Athens, GA.)

We’ll be closing out the weekend with our Prom, to be held at The Melting Point on Saturday night. A favorite among out-of-towners and locals alike, the Prom brings the attendees back to the times of cover bands, questionable outfits, photo booths and punch bowls, without all of the awkwardness of being a teenager.

In addition to these events, we will see the return of our highly competitive “K’s vs W’s Kickball Showdown,” and our first ever Record Fair with vinyl goodies at your perusal from our label partners, individual local vendors and community record store friends.

Three day passes ($25) as well as individual tickets ($10 advance, $12 at door) will be available soon!

Team Clermont has secured a block of rooms at a reduced rate at The Foundry, where The Melting Point is located, so you can sleep stumbling distance from Prom! Be sure to let them know you are with the Team Clermont party to receive the discounted rate when booking.
