Humpday cover

Tummyache

tummyache is An Alternative Rock Project created by Songwriter / producer soren bryce. The project is named after one of the side effects of severe physical anxiety. Bryce has been creating and releasing music for the past six years Under her own name. Tummyache manifested from Bryce’s need to explore a new set of emotions She experienced while living in brooklyn, new york.

the debut ep “humpday” is an honest and aggressive self-dive into a myriad of Intra/interpersonal issues; as well as a reflection of the human condition through the lens of absurdism. Songs like “machine” and “commonplace” are a cry to understand a life without intrinsic meaning, while “median” and title track “humpday” surrender to the existential anxiety in an attempt to be comforted by self-made hope. “in between” is a bitter-sweet outline of Bryce seeking to simply ‘feel better’.

Broken Baby Unveil Beast Of A New Single

LA’s Broken Baby haven’t released any music since last year’s brilliant self-titled, debut long player. But this past week saw them drop a surprise new single and video. After a spattering of support dates for Dead Sara last year, and Portland’s Summer Cannibals in early 2019, the evident growth of the band, lead by Vesuvius-like frontperson Amber Bollinger, is clear. As much as this new material holds true to what Popdust described as the band’s “lo-fi, unprocessed crunch with a hefty dose of buffed up swish,” “Meat Week” also showcases Bollinger and guitarist/co-writer Alex Dezen’s lyrical prowess and wit in their bold takedown of sexual violence, malignant misogyny, and rightwing fanaticism. And heaven knows, we all need some of that right now.

The video is directed by long-time collaborator and Emmy award-winning director Tony Diaz, the three-and-a-half-minute featurette lays bare the frightening dystopia of our current cultural dysmorphia and prod the open wounds of our ransacked politics.

With a few more singles and videos planned for 2019, and supporting tours as well, Broken Baby is here to rescue us from the wreckage of our time.
