Fol Chen "In Ruins" Video

Fol Chen's "In Ruins" video filmed at that volcano!

The mysterious Fol Chen have been making waves for a couple months, leading up to the release of their new album on Asthmatic Kitty, the follow up to Part II: John Shade, Your Fortune’s Made. Pitchfork.tv was kind enough to premiere the video for “In Ruins”, the first single from Part II: The New December, out on LP, CD and digital formats on July 6th. This video was shot at the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull by director Chris Wilcha.

Fol Chen On Morning Becomes Eclectic!

At 8:00 am on Monday morning of this week, while everyone else was staggering to the coffee maker for that morning jolt, Fol Chen already had their make up on and instruments strapped and ready to go! Fol Chen were guests on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic on July 20th, playing tracks off of their spring release Part I: John Shade, Your Fortune’s Made. These Asthmatic Kitty Records rockers brought their A game with awesome tracks like “No Wedding Cake”, “Cable TV” and “Winter, That’s All” Check out their performance here !

NPR Loves Folchen - Cropper

Valentine's Day: NPR Loves Fol Chen!

The mysterious Fol Chen has seemingly been popping up every over the past couple of weeks, and the reviews for Part I: John Shade, Your Fortune’s Made have been pouring in. Most recently, Fol Chen was featured on NPR’s Fresh Air. Of course, NPR pointed out the literary side of the band, noting that John Shade was the name of the poet in Nabokov’s 1962 novel Pale Fire. You’re welcome, trivia buffs. And, NPR didn’t stop there to show their love of Fol Chen. Be sure to read the Second Stage story from last year as well!
