Dowd Records’ TLA are preparing to release their new album, New Language. The band which includes members of The Shins and The Pleased just debuted their new video, “Forty Years” via Austin Town Hall.

“Listener beware! It’s hard not to get entranced by the sonic pulse of this music accompanied with this incredible video…this feels like what Billy Corgan was after Adore, only with better execution,” said Nathan Lankford at Austin Town Hall.

King Ropes cover

Austin Town Hall premieres the new King Ropes single

Earlier today, Austin Town Hall premiered the new single from King Ropes called “California Stars.”

Writer Nathan Lankord said the song “plods slowly, allowing the natural melody in the vocals to build; the guitars and bass still have this ominous tone in the distance behind the voice Dave Hollier. The pinnacle is from the chorus with the line “those California stars they shine and shine;” it’s a sublime pop tidbit”

You can read the entire premiere HERE.

King Ropes album, Gravity and Friction will be out July 26th.
