Glide Magazine Premieres Dangermaker's "Pressure"

Glide Magazine just premiered Dangermaker’s latests track/music video “Pressure.” Can you say OBSESSED? Because that’s exactly how we feel about this track! Dangermaker’s new LP is set to release on October 5th, 2018, and we are so stoked about this sneak-peek!

About “Pressure,” Glide Magazine states, “ …a lively cut filled with slinky beats and hooks galore.. Dangermaker hits on all production cylinders in bridging an indie pop vibe, that like a good Daft Punk tune, strays to the safe side of street cred.”

Leland and the Silver Wells premiere new video with Brooklyn Vegan

“‘Luck of the Draw‘” mixes West Coast flower power pop with a dash of twangy country in there too. (Think early Bangles.) We’ve got the premiere of the song’s video, written and directed by Mackenzie McCullough, and its Super-8 style really accentuates the song’s West Coast vibe.”

Alberta1 by Chris Dempsey

The Southern Sounding Premieres Alberta's "Parlour"

Alberta a.k.a David Boone wrote each of the 11 tracks from his forthcoming album “MMMMM” on a salvation army piano, with a couch modded guitar, and recorded in a garage built studio. The result: an album that is relentless in its exploration of both color and attitude. Four weeks after “MMMMM” was done, he sold all of his things, outfitted an old work van worthy enough to catch some rest in, and took off. Now, as he tours the east coast, Alberta is preparing for his album’s launch date on October 5th.

Our friends at The Southern Sounding got a taste of Alberta’s sound and did us the honor of premiering Alberta’s latest track “Parlour” from the “MMMMM” album. About “Parlour” The Southern Sounding writer, Joshua Pickard says, “Boone wraps himself up within a series of twirling organ lines, clanging guitar rhythms and sparse percussive echoes. Its bluesy atmosphere is supported by a pitch black humor and wit that infuses every word and description.”

Girl Underground Music Premieres Broken Baby's "Pass The Acetone"

Introducing: Broken Baby, our latest rock obsession! Dripping with post-punk grunge and boomy, low-fi sounds, Broken Baby’s edginess is lethal. Their sound is caught somewhere between The Pretenders, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Jesus Lizard, and with melodies reminiscent of Eurythmics, Broken Baby is a band for punching the air and driving a little too fast.

As we count down the days until Broken Baby’s self-titled album releases on September 21st, Girl Underground Music shared their anticipation for the album as they premiere Broken Baby’s latest and greatest music video “Pass the Acetone.”

About the track , Girl Underground Music writes, “‘Pass the Acetone’ is a melodic punch to the ears ready for continuous replays. Bollinger’s bright vocals hold an amplitude of strength and is delivered with control throughout the track.”

We invite you to read the rest of Girl Underground Music’s boomin’ article here.

Magnet Magazine Premieres The Eyebrows "Avocado" Music Video

Yesterday, Magnet Magazine posted an exclusive first look at The Eyebrows single “Avocado.” The twisted trio are set to self-release their 10-track debut album Volume on August 31.

Magnet Magazine commented on the music video, “In music, as in life, being quirky tends to elicit very mixed reactions… But in the case of Charlotte, N.C., trio the Eyebrows, there’s no need to worry: Being quirky suits them well, because there’s a lot more going on in their music that just shits and giggles.” For more glorious details on The Eyebrows freaky new music video, check out Magnet Mag’s original post here.

Girl Underground Music Debuts Xuan Single

As Xuan releases her first single “We Were Just Talking” from her up-and-coming album Have Some Fun on November 16th, Girl Underground Music jumped on the opportunity to premiere and review the indie-pop track.

About the new single Girl Underground Music writer, Janette Ayub, says “Delightfully opening with innocent banter and magical synths, “We Were Just Talking” is the epitome of inner dialogue and wishful thinking when merely talking to a crush. Fluorescent tempo switches dance alongside Xuan’s joyous, yet sotto voce delivery, sweetly nestled between jangle-pop guitar chords. Primal drumming provide a simplistic approach, allowing a centered focus on Xuan’s story. Adding a touch of college rock, the track is an adolescent ode smothered in pop.”

Now that we’ve gotten that small disclaimer out of the way, here’s the link to the premiere! Check it out and let us know if you think it’s as awesome as we do!

Jane Room 217 cover

Darren Jessee Bares His Soul in "Letting you Go"

August 24th will see the debut solo release from Darren Jessee, The Jane Room 217. In celebration of this beautifully sparse, soon-to-be masterpiece, Atwood Magazine has premiered the newest single, “Letting You Go.”

Mitch Mosk really delves deeply into the song, saying “Darren Jessee captures the heartbreak, longing, and loneliness of saying goodbye to the one you love in his bittersweet breakup ballad, “Letting You Go.” Read the entire write up here

Since 2004, Jessee’s released four records under the name Hotel Lights, all while working as a drummer for a series of wildly acclaimed acts. He played drums for Sharon Van Etten in support of her celebrated 2014 release Are We There, and since 2016, he’s been a member of the Durham-based band Hiss Golden Messenger, performing most recently on their 2017 Merge release Hallelujah Anyhow. Before any of that, Jessee made his name as a member of the band Ben Folds Five, for which he co-wrote their biggest hit, “Brick.”
