It is with heavy hearts that we confirm the news that Bill Doss, member of Olivia Tremor Control and co-founder of Elephant 6 Recording Company, has passed on.
Please respect the privacy of the Elephant 6 family at this time.
Our hearts are with them, and we will release any further details and statements as it’s fit in the days to come.
We here at Team Clermont want to thank everyone that flew, drove and walked to Athens and came out to the festivities this weekend at Georgia Theatre, Holland Youth Sports Complex, Little Kings, and Melting Point!
Special thanks go out to the artists that performed Dent May, Crooked Fingers, Olivia Tremor Control, White Violet, Pattern Is Movement, Akron/Family, Bear In Heaven, Astronautalis, Grape Soda, Slaw & Order, Yacht Rock Revue, and DJ Mahogany! Our friends in Wild Moccasins couldn’t make it, but they were with us in spirit!
The weekend would not have been possible without the support from our sponsors Normaltown Records, Mailchimp, Merge Records, Branded Butcher, Bel-Jean, Heirloom, Your Pie, and Jittery Joes! We’d also like to thank WUOG for live broadcasting from the Theatre, Twin Hearts Photograpy for the awesome Partybooth pics, Nuci’s Space for their help with rehearsal space and equipment, Avatar Events Group, and Ike & Jane for some delicious pre-kickball treats.
We’d also like to thank the following Athenians who were generous enough to lend us equipment to make the weekend possible: Lemuel Hayes, Jeremy Wheatley, Vaughan Lamb, Jason NeSmith, Logan Hornbuckle, Robert Ashley, Ryan Lewis, Jojo Glidewell, and David Barbe.
Be sure to check out the Team Clermont Facebook page and the Partybooth pics for some of the highlights of the weekend!

Winners will be chosen and announced Monday, July 23. Feel free to enter both contests. The more you spread the word, the higher your chances of winning!
Use the #TC15 hashtag to tweet about who you’re excited to see, and why you’d like to be chosen to receive a pass for the weekend. Tweet as many times as you like, just make sure each is a unique message. We’ll retweet the best ones throughout the contest! Two winners will be chosen at random.

Our 15th anniversary showcase is only a few weeks away, and so far we’ve already announced amazing acts like The Olivia Tremor Control, Bear In Heaven, Dent May, Crooked Fingers, and more. We have another artist joining our Friday night lineup, and it is Akron/Family!
The long weekend consists of two nights of showcases and one finale party called Prom, all of which are open to the public. Over three nights, Thursday through Sunday, July 26, 27 & 28, two showcases will be held at the Georgia Theatre, and the third night (Saturday July 28) will be Team Clermont’s infamous prom held at The Melting Point.
Astronautalis (aka Andy Bothwell) will be performing Saturday morning at the return of the highly competitive “K’s vs W’s Kickball Showdown.” In addition, we will be hosting our first record fair with Team Clermont’s label partners, individual local vendors and community record store friends.
Three-day wristbands are available now through TicketBiscuit for only $25!
Akron/Family is a folk influenced experimental rock group formed in 2002, currently comprised of Dana Janssen, Seth Olinsky, and Miles Seaton. The group spent the end of 2009 and half of 2010 exploring the future of sound through Bent Acid Punk Diamond fuzz and Underground Japanese noise cassettes, lower case micro tone poems and emotional Cagean field recordings, rebuilding electronic drums from the 70’s and playing them with sticks they carved themselves. Upon miraculous resuscitation of the original AKAK hard drive, the album layers thousands of minute imperceptible samples of their first recordings with fuzzed-out representations of their present beings to induce pleasant emotional feeling states and many momentary transcendent inspirations. The resulting record, released in February, 2011 is titled S/T II: The Cosmic Birth and Journey of Shinju TNT.
Here at Team Clermont, Helado Negro has become a household (office-hold?) name. The “sound sculpting” Asthmatic Kitty artist has released some really fantastic albums as of late (in both English and Spanish) and it seems he always has something in the works. He is a frequent collaborator, teaming up with folks like label mate Julianna Barwick, Prefuse 73, and lending his album mixing skills to the likes of Bear In Heaven and DM Stith.
Next month, Asthmatic Kitty will release the debut of OMBRE, 10 tracks from the collaboration that is Helado Negro and Julianna Barwick.
It’s no surprise then that the name Helado Negro is spreading, and this past week, he was voted MTV IGGY’S Artist Of The Week! You can check that out here, along with the video for “Mameber” from this year’s Island Universe Story One.
We’re excited to announce that this year’s prom theme is “Back To The Future”. Time to track down a DeLorean you can rent for the evening to transport your date, and start planning which era or character you’ll channel with your outfit. We invite you to dress as a character from any era the films visit, meaning 1885, 1955, 1985 or 2015!
It’s all part of the return of the Team Clermont Summer Showcase and Prom presented by Normaltown Records, as the Athens, GA firm celebrates 15 years of excellence in music publicity and radio promotion.
The long weekend also consists of two nights of showcases, all of which are open to the public. Over three nights, Thursday through Sunday, July 26, 27 & 28, two showcases will be held at the Georgia Theatre, headlined by critically acclaimed national act Bear In Heaven (Brooklyn, NY) psych-pop pioneers The Olivia Tremor Control (Athens, GA)
The third night (Saturday July 28) will be our prom held at The Melting Point. A favorite for out-of-towners and locals alike, the Prom takes the attendees back to the times of cover bands, questionable outfits, photo booths and punch bowls, without all of the awkwardness of being a teenager. Get ready to dance, as Yacht Rock Revue performs a set of 80s cover songs they call “Reagan Rock Prom!”
Also scheduled to perform: Dent May, Crooked Fingers, Pattern Is Movement, Wild Moccasins, Astronautalis, and more!
