1986 Unveil The Rock And Roll Ponzi Scheme!
1986 is ready to share their brand new record Everybody Is Whatever I Think They Are with you, and it is through the Rock And Roll Ponzi Scheme! The Austin TX duo have put together a presentation that gives you the opportunity to receive a free download of their new release…
Their only request…Play It Loud!
Giorgio Angelini and Cully Symington make up 1986, but they have also performed with bands such as Bishop Allen, The Rosebuds, The Gutter Twins, Cursive, and Okkervil River. In the studio, the band enlisted the help of many friends, including Jesus Lizard guitarist, Duane Denison, and Adam Franklin, of Swervedriver.
Everybody Is Whatever I Think They Are is not only the product of its influences but also represents the experiences Symington/Angelini had touring and recording in other people’s bands.

Schooner Releases New EP Exclusively Through CYTunes.org!
Duck Kee Sessions, the new EP by Carrboro, North Carolina quartet, Schooner, is available now exclusively through CYTunes.org . Named after Cy Rawls, a NC music scene staple and friend of the band that lost his struggle with brain cancer, Cytunes is a website where musicians can upload music (Superchunk, The Rosebuds, Polvo, and many more artists have exclusive material on the site), and fans can purchase music with 100% of the proceeds going to brain cancer research.
Schooner recognized Cytunes as the most meaningful place for it’s newest songs, Duck Kee Sessions, recorded at the legendary Jerry Kee’s Duck Kee Studios (Superchunk, Kingsbury Manx, Polvo). A variety of album covers for Duck Kee Sessions are available with numerous North Carolina-based artists contributing unique works for the project. Contributing artists’ artwork will be featured at the Duck Kee Sessions EP release party.

Epstein Y El Conjunto's "A Lost Animal" Ft. School of Seven Bells
Roberto Carlos Lange is a busy, busy man. In August 2009 Asthmatic Kitty released Awe Owe, the album he made under the pseudonym Helado Negro. Then in December, as part of their Library Catalog Music Series, AK released Music For Memory, a poignant instrumental album recorded under Lange’s given name. To follow all of that up, the label will re-issuing four Epstein albums on February 23, 2010. Puñal, Gente Sin Pueblo, Canto De Hermanos and Otros reflect Lange’s work that was recorded between 2000-2007, the first two originally released by Botanica Del Jibaro and latter released by Arepaz.
In addition to that output, Asthmatic Kitty will be putting out the first Epstein album to be released in the US, When Man Is Full He Falls Asleep, on March 9, 2010! In anticipation of that, a new song has popped up recorded by Epstein Y El Conjunto called “A Lost Animal”, featuring School Of Seven Bells. You can stream it from Pitchfork, who featured the song on their Forckast yesterday or download it below!
